Mindful Breathing
/Let’s try Mindful Breathing…
Get comfortable in your seat or lying down. Read below and dive in. (If you want, set your timer for a few minutes)
Start by taking a few long inhale-long exhale, deep breaths.
If it feels good you can breathe in, hold, then slowly let the air out.
Do this deep breathing a couple of times, still yourself, and focused on your breathe for a minute.
Then, breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth, letting your breath flow effortlessly in and out of your body.
Simply let thoughts come and go and bring your attention back to your breathing. Just notice it. How it feels in your body, moving through your nostrils, your belly rising and falling, etc. This is your anchor for this technique.
Challenge: Make a mental note to use this mindful breathing technique throughout your day today. It can be done with even just a minute. And then, if it goes really well, do it again tomorrow. :)
